FAQs

TLDR: If you’re positive you’re coming to the wedding, consider booking a hotel now, as lodging is limited and competitive in Hood River during wedding season.

Our first hotel choice is the Lightwell Hotel (no room block).

There’s also a limited block of 10 rooms available now at the Hood River Hotel and Hampton Inn.

  • The wedding will take place in Hood River, Oregon, about an hour east of Portland in the Columbia River Valley Gorge. The ceremony and reception will be held at the Griffin House (4168 Westcliff Dr, Hood River, OR 97031).

  • Hood River is easily accessible by car from Portland (~1 hour), and is a beautiful drive that winds along the river. Public transportation includes the Columbia Gorge Express, Amtrak, or Greyhound.

Venue parking is very limited, please do not plan to drive to the venue! We will be running a shuttle to and from the wedding, picking up and dropping off at our preferred hotels. Early and late night shuttle options will be available for responsible people and heathens.

Note that rideshare is currently very limited in Hood River.

  • Our first choice for lodging is the newly renovated hotel dating back to 1904, the Lightwell Hotel. However, there’s no room block so we recommend booking ASAP, as it’s first-come, first-serve.

We have a small block secured at the Hood River Hotel, and the Hampton Inn. All are within walking distance of one another, but the Hood River Hotel and the Lightwell are located in Downtown Hood River, with the Hampton Inn just being on the opposite side of I-84.

If you choose to book an AirBnB or alternate lodging, we recommend that you stay within the vicinity of the above hotels for ease of access to shuttle service.

  • As much as we love, love, LOVE your kiddos, this will not be a child-friendly wedding. There will be an open-bar, and we’re next to a cliff. Let’s keep everyone safe!

  • Pretty casual, my dudes. We’re planning on dressing up to celebrate, but come as you are and how you feel comfy.

The venue is primarily outdoors, the Gorge is usually windy, and PNW evenings can get chilly; June is typically beautiful, but plan accordingly for the weather, and consider leaving the stilettos at home.

  • Because it’s a destination for most, we’d recommend staying at least the night of the 5th, as well.

Hood River/the Gorge offer amazing nature and hiking opportunities, sailing, swimming, breweries, bars, food, shopping…all the things you’d expect from a cute quaint downtown.
